Professor Valentine Aletor
Valentine A. Aletor is a Professor of Agricultural Biochemistry & Nutrition with a strong background in Nutritional Biochemistry, Food Science, and Environmental Protection & Product Quality Assurance through dietary manipulations. His research interests also include Biotechnological enhancement of the utilization of poor quality food/feed resources such as agro-industrial byproducts & farm’s wastes in animal feeding.
He joined University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), in Bayelsa State of Nigeria as Acting Vice Chancellor in September 2017 from Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State (2012-2015) where he was also pioneer Vice Chancellor.
Among his academic distinctions are: a 2-time grant award by the International Foundation for Science (IFS), Sweden; 2-time African Academy of Sciences (AAS) Grant project supervisor; Research Fellowship at the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), Aleppo, Syria; Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Fellowship at the AFRC Institute of Food Research (IFR), Norwich, UK; and, a 3-time Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellowship at the University of Bonn, Germany, and Technical University of Munich, Germany.
He belongs to several national and international professional Organisations including the New York Academy of Sciences, USA; Norwich Legume Group, UK, Nig Inst of Animal Science (NIAS); Inst Public Analysts of Nig (IPAN) & Fellow, Postgrad College of Animal Scientists of Nigeria (FCASN). He has been cited in: Who’s Who in Science & Technology in Nigeria; Who’s Who in Science & Engineering in America; Achievers Who’s Who in Nigeria, 2010 and, a recipient of FUTA Excellence & Productivity Award
