Professor Julian Chaudhuri
Professor Chaudhuri was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics in February 2014. Prior to moving to Bradford he spent over 20 years at the University of Bath.
His roles at the University of Bath included:
- Professor of Biochemical & Biomedical Engineering
- Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering (2007-2013)
- Associate Dean for the Faculty of Engineering & Design (2010-2013)
He holds BSc(Eng) and PhD degrees in Biochemical Engineering obtained from University College London, and the University of Reading respectively. He is also a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and has served as a member of IChemE Council.
Professor Chaudhuri was a co-founder of Bath’s Centre for Regenerative Medicine in 2003 and served as its Deputy Director for seven years. His research is in tissue engineering at the interface between engineering, biological sciences and medicine – this is where the most interesting problems exist. Specifically his work addresses the development of biodegradable biomaterials and bioreactor systems for stem cell culture and three-dimensional tissue engineering.
