Professor Amir Sharif
Amir M. Sharif joined Bradford in August 2017 from Brunel University London where he was Professor of Operations Management. A previous Head of Brunel Business School, he has held a number of senior academic leadership roles including Assistant Head, Director of both the MBA and Doctoral programmes, as well as serving as Director of Teaching and Learning.
Prior to his academic career, Amir was an industry practitioner and has worked for and consulted to many leading global corporations including JPMorgan, UBS Investment Bank and KPMG. An aeronautical engineer by his first degree, Amir has built up deep experience across the industrial products, consumer goods, technology and finance sectors over this time.
Amir continues to be research active within the Operations & Supply Chain Management, Leadership, Decision-Making and Operations Research fields. His current areas of interest include manufacturing, healthcare, humanitarian logistics and food security. He has published widely in leading international journals and continues to enjoy teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive level.
Amir is regularly called upon by leading national and international research funding bodies such as the British Council, British Academy, EPSRC, ESRC, the EU, the Czech Research Foundation, the Danish National Research Foundation, the Natural and National Science Foundation of China, and the Qatar National Research Foundation.
He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport, the Institute of Leadership and Management and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
